Baked Apples with Raisins and Walnuts
4 large baking apples, like Granny Smith, Braeburn or Gala
1/4 cup butter, softened
2 Tbsp. honey
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup golden raisins
1/4 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Slice one quarter off the top of the apples and core with a melon baler or spoon to form a cavity. If necessary, slice a bit off the bottom so that the apples sit without tilting.

In a medium mixing bowl using a hand mixer or sturdy spoon, stir together the butter, honey and brown sugar until well mixed. Stir in cinnamon, nutmet and salt. Add raisins and walnuts and combine. Scoop the raising filling into the apples and place in a baking dish.

Bake until apples can be pierced with a fork, about 30 to 40 minutes.
