Whether you purchase whole beans from our coffee aisle bulk bins or in prepackaged bags, it's important to grind your coffee properly to get the best flavor out of each cup. Plus, when you use fresh whole beans, you can create your own special blend by mixing your favorite varieties of Millstone® Coffee!

First, you always want to match the grind to your coffeemaker — too fine a grind may give you a bitter cup of coffee, and too coarse a grind will give you a weak brew. It helps to pulse the grinder (three seconds) for an even grind without overheating the beans. Note that there are two types of home grinders — Burr and Chopper. Follow the guidelines below to get your perfect grind at home or at your Millstone® retailer.

Instructions for using Millstone® equipment in your retail store:
- Select your desired type of coffee
- Take an empty Millstone takeaway bag, usually located next to the grinder and place it completely under the spout of the bulk coffee bin
- Slowly push spout to release coffee (some dispensers may require that you pull the handle down to release the beans)
- If you choose to grind your coffee at the store, pour coffee beans into the top of the grinder and place the bag completely under the grinder spout (Important: Bag must be under spout for grinder to operate. Grinder will stop automatically when bag is removed)
- Select desired type of grind and press start
- Make sure that all beans are completely ground before stopping
